Fadnavis govt should be booked for culpable homicide over farmer suicides: Congress' Sapkal

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) The “triple engine” government in Maharashtra has betrayed the trust of the people, and farmers are ending their lives as there is no crop insurance compensation, no loan waivers, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Harshvardhan Sapkal said here today.
Sapkal demanded that the Devendra Fadnavis-led state government be booked for culpable homicide in farmer suicide cases, as another farmer ended his life after being unable to pay back loans.
The state Congress chief said the Mahayuti government came to power by making tall promises to the people, only to betray their trust. "The government has gravely deceived beloved sisters, ST workers, and farmers. There’s no fair price for agricultural produce, no crop insurance compensation, no loan waivers—leading to a devastating crisis where farmers are ending their lives. This is shameful for Maharashtra".
