Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) A major fire broke out in the Croma showroom located in the Linking Road area of Bandra in Mumbai in the wee hours of Tuesday. No injury has been reported so far.
Sources in the Mumbai Fire Brigade said the fire is confined to the showroom, which is located in the basement of the three-storey Link Square Mall reportedly owned by former NCP minister Baba Siddique, who was gunned down recently.
Smoke has spread across the entire mall, they said.
Sources said the fire was reported around 4:17 am at Level 1, and that it soon spread to Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4.
As many as 12 fire engines, nine jumbo water tankers, two breathing apparatus vans, one rescue van, and one quick response vehicle are engaged in the rescue operation, which is still going on .
Officials said that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
