Pune, Apr 29 (UNI) Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat, while rain or thundershowers occurred at most places in Northeast India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Gujarat Region, west Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra, the IMD said.
The temperatures were markedly below normal (-5.1 or below) at many places over Bihar; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal and Sikkim; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh; at isolated places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka and normal over rest parts of the country, the IMD bulletin said.
On Sunday, the highest maximum temperature of 46.4°C was reported at Barmer (west Rajasthan) in the country.
Hailstorm occurred at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Heat wave conditions are very likely in some parts of west Rajasthan on April 29 and 30; in isolated pockets on May 1; in isolated pockets over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan on April 29 and 30.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Gangetic West Bengal and at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha and Kerala and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Lakshadweep, the IMD said.
