Gill, Rutherford power GT past SRH after Siraj burst

Hyderabad, Apr 6 (UNI) Gujarat Titans cruised to a commanding seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in an IPL clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Sunday, with skipper Shubman Gill's classy half-century and Sherfane Rutherford's power-packed finish complementing Mohammed Siraj's fiery four-wicket spell.
Chasing a target of 153, Gujarat overhauled the total with ease, reaching 153/3 in just 16.4 overs. Gill led the charge with a fluent 61* off 43 balls, studded with nine boundaries, while Rutherford’s unbeaten 35 off 16 balls, laced with six fours and a six, ensured a breezy finish for the visitors.
Rutherford's late blitz began in the 15th over, when he tore into Abhishek Sharma with a sequence of boundaries. He carved four consecutive fours — over extra cover, through covers, mid-wicket and point — forcing Sharma to bowl a wide out of desperation.
