Himachal: Alert NTPC team, brave villagers save 2 children stranded in Satluj

Bilaspur, May 15 (UNI) Two children stranded in the middle of the Satluj river in Bilaspur district were rescued safely on Wednesday evening, thanks to the prompt response of NTPC Koldam management and the courage of local villagers.
The incident occurred in Khangar village of Sadar subdivision, where three children — Krish Chandel, Anuj, and a girl — were playing on the sandy riverbank, unaware of the warning sirens sounded before water release from the Koldam hydroelectric project.
As the water level began to rise rapidly, the children were caught off guard.
While the girl managed to reach the riverbank in time, Krish and Anuj climbed onto a small island to save themselves. Soon, they were surrounded by water.
Hearing their cries, villagers rushed to the spot. Anjana Kumari, a ward member of Nichli Bhated Panchayat, quickly alerted NTPC officials.
