Hoshiarpur-Jammu bus service remains suspended

Hoshiarpur-Jammu bus service remains suspended

Hoshiarpur, May 10 (UNI) Punjab Roadways has continued the suspension of its bus services from Hoshiarpur to Jammu for the second straight day due to tensions along the India-Pak border, an official said on Saturday.

General manager of Punjab Roadways Jasvir Kotla said the decision was taken purely as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing security concerns. Buses from the depot are currently being operated only up to Pathankot.

He said instructions have been received to make special arrangements for students studying in colleges and universities who need to travel to Jammu. “We have been asked to provide transport for such students, and buses will be made available accordingly,” Kotla said.

The suspension of regular services will continue until a review of the situation deems it safe to resume operations, he added.
