Hyd: CCMB collaboration with TSF to screen population in Jharkhand for Sickle Cell Anaemia

Hyderabad, Apr 4 (UNI) CSIR- Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) on Friday announced it has entered into MoU with Tata Trust Founda on (TSF) and National Health Mission (NHM), Jharkhand, to screen the popula on of Jharkhand for Sickle Cell Anaemia (SCA).
This landmark effort combines CCMB’s mission towards early diagnosis and making a difference in the lives of SCA families with the TSF’s commitment towards betterment of health of people of Jharkhand, the Hyderabad based Centre said in a release here.
The pilot project is expected to provide the estimates of SCA burden in the state and aid in designing preventive and management strategies for the disease.
