JDU step to support Waqf Amendment Bill unconstitutional: RJD

Patna, Apr 10 (UNI) Bihar's main opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday said the ruling Janata Dal United (JDU) has done an "unconstitutional act" by supporting centre's Bharatiya Janata Party-led coalition government on the Waqf Amendment Bill.
MLC Qari Mohammad Sohaib told news persons here that JDU's Muslim leaders have "misled" the people on the issue . He said RJD's national chief spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha put forth an 18-point suggestion on behalf of RJD before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).
He described the Waqf Amendment Bill as a "direct attack" on the religious freedom and constitutional rights of Muslims and said it was the Central goverment's ploy to capture religious institutions like Waqf.

Lunglei authorities to tighten control on refugee movement from Myanmar
