Kamal Haasan postpones 'Thug Life' audio launch

Mumbai, May 9 (UNI) Superstar and filmmaker Kamal Haasan has taken the decision to reschedule the audio launch of his upcoming film "Thug Life", originally scheduled for May 16, in light of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
In a statement issued to the media, Haasan affirmed “Art can wait. India comes first. In view of the developments at our nation’s border and the current state of heightened alert, we have decided to reschedule the audio launch of ‘Thug Life’, originally planned for the 16th of May."
Haasan added, “As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defence of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration. At this time, our thoughts are with the brave men and women of our armed forces who stand vigilant, safeguarding our nation.”
Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies, "Thug Life" marks a cinematic milestone, uniting three creative giants -- AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan. The film's music is composed by the legendry AR Rahman.
Billed as one of Indian cinema's most ambitious multi-starrer projects, "Thug Life" features a pan-Indian ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR, Trisha, Nasser, Abhirami, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ali Fazal, Vaiyapuri and others in lead roles.
Directed by Mani Ratnam and co-produced by R. Mahendran and Shiv Ananth, the film is set to release worldwide on June 5.
