Kerala: CM criticises organiser over anti-Christian article

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 6 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has criticised RSS mouthpiece Organiser for publishing an article against Christians, saying that it proves the Sangh Parivar’s deep-rooted antagonism towards minorities.

The Chief Minister said, "The article in the RSS mouthpiece Organiser about the Church's ownership of land, published soon after the Waqf Amendment Act was passed, lays bare the Sangh Parivar’s deep-rooted antagonism towards minorities."

"Though later withdrawn, the article reveals a deliberate, step-by-step attempt to target and isolate minorities and their institutions. Secular forces must unite in resistance," he felt.

The Chief Minister also strongly condemned the brutal attack on Christians in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

"It is outrageous that Malayali priests were assaulted in the presence of the police while helping tribals, including women and children, who were falsely accused and detained," he said.

"The growing communal violence is a dangerous assault on India’s secular fabric, threatening the nation’s core values," he said on Saturday.

"The Union Government’s inaction and complicity embolden the attackers and tarnish the country’s image globally. Immediate action must be taken against those responsible. Kerala stands firmly with the victims," he added.
