Kerala: CM welcomes India-Pak ceasefire

Thiruvananthapuram, May 10 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday welcomed the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan, ending the military conflict.
In a message, the Chief Minister said, "The people and the country want peace. The decision to end the conflict on the border and achieve peace is wise."
It is important to continue to stand for peace and the progress of the country while maintaining a strong stance against terrorist forces, he added.
It was decided to suspend the fourth annual celebrations of the LDF-led CPI(M) Government in Kerala due to the developments on the border.
In the context of the ceasefire, the Chief Minister directed that the annual celebrations can be continued as scheduled from May 13. The district- and the state-level meetings, the My Kerala Exhibition and the regional review meetings will be held as scheduled from May 13.
