Sports vital for physical, mental growth: JNTUK Vice Chancellor

Kakinada, May 10 (UNI) Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) Vice chancellor Prof CSRK Prasad on Saturday said that participation in sports and games was very vital for every one especially for the students to come up bright in studies.

Participating as the chief guest at the JNTUK University Sports day celebrations at the Alumni auditorium here, he said the sports day would be ever remembered as a day of victory for the University students achievements in National level tournaments and inter-collegiate tournaments in the past.
He said participation in sports shapes the students as bright and also develops leadership qualities among them.
Rector Prof KV Ramana chaired the function. University sports council secretary Dr G Shyam Kumar presented the annual sports report and read out the names of the players who participated in national and inter collegiate tournaments.
Later Vice chancellor Prasad gave away prizes and mementoes to the victors of various tournaments, physical directors, coaches and Managers.
