Kerala: Youth trampled to death, his mother seriously injured in wild elephant attack in Palakkad

Palakkad, Apr 6 (UNI) A 24-year-old youth was trampled to death and his mother sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a wild elephant at Kannadan Chola near Mundur in the district, on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Alan, son of K Vinu, a resident of Kayaramkode in Mundur Grama Panchayat. His mother, Vijaya (44), who suffered serious injuries in the attack, has been admitted to the District Hospital in Palakkad.
The incident occurred at around 8 pm, when Alan and his mother were on their way home after purchasing groceries from a nearby shop. The wild elephant suddenly attacked them near their residence in Kannadan Chola.
