Landslide kills man, injures another in north Kashmir's Kupwara

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) A man was killed and another injured after a landslide struck while they were extracting stones in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday, officials said.



The incident occurred at Drugmulla, where the two men were engaged in stone extraction.

The deceased was identified as Habibullah Malik, a resident of Drugmulla Kupwara.

According to officials, Malik and Imtiyaz Ahmad Peer, of Drugmulla, sustained injuries and were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara. However, doctors declared Malik dead on arrival.

Peer is currently undergoing treatment at SDH Kupwara.

Local authorities and police have taken cognizance of the incident, and further investigation is underway.
