Maha: BJP stages 'dharna' in Mumbai over alleged atrocities against Hindus in West Bengal

Mumbai, Apr 26 (UNI) The city unit of BJP staged a 'dharna' outside the party's state office here on Saturday, on behalf of the Bengali cell of the party, to protest against alleged genocide of the Hindus in West Bengal.
On this occasion, the protesters made a demand to impose the President's rule in West Bengal to protect Hindus.
Talking to reporters after agitation, Mumbai BJP president Advocate Ashish Shelar alleged that violence in West Bengal was an insult to the Constitution.
"If you want to oppose the Waqf Act implemented within the framework of the Constitution, then do it
democratically, according to democratic values, knock on the door of the courts. But in West Bengal, violence being perpetrated by inciting religious sentiments, killing Hindus and opposing the law is an insult to the Constitution," he said.
Adv Shelar said that BJP stands against brutal atrocities allegedly being committed by the Mamata Bannerjee government on Hindus.
The politics of Mamata government in Bengal was encouraging fundamentalist forces and Hindus were being targeted there.
The incident at Murshidabad was highly condemnable, he added.
In a veiled attack on opposition NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar, he stated that senior leaders from
Maharashtra are among the leaders who immediately create caste differences and create disputes when Hindus are seen uniting.
