Maha: Cooperative Dept issues notice to directors of Nashik District Bank

Nashik, Mar 22 (UNI) The Cooperative Department has served notices to Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate and 25 former directors of Nashik District Bank or their heirs in connection with alleged irregularities of Rs 182 crore in the Bank.
The said notices were issued to Minister Kokate, MP Dr Shobha Bachhav, MLAs Dilip Bankar, Dr Rahul Aher, Narendra Darade and other current public representatives.
After a two-and-a-half-year investigation under Section 88, 15 officers are also likely to be in troub
le for distribution of suspicious loans worth Rs 347 crore, sources said on Saturday.
In the case of recovery of Rs 182 crore, 44 people will be heard before Cooperative Minister Babasaheb Patil on April two, 2025.
The then Divisional Joint Registrar Gautam Balsane conducted an inquiry to investigate the loan distribution in the District Bank. In that inquiry, irregularities were revealed in distribution of loans to Nashik Cooperative Sugar Factory, Niphad Cooperative Sugar Factory, Renuka Yantramag Industrial Institute, Armstrong Sugar Factory, as well as Mheluske Various Executive Service Societies etc.
The Joint Registrar held 29 current and former directors and 15 officers for alleged irregularities in the Bank and fixed the recovery of loans worth Rs 182 crore.
The Joint Registrar had also issued recovery notices to all of them, however, at that time, the accused had appealed to then Cooperation Minister and got a stay on the matter.
But now, there has been a stir as the Cell officer of the Cooperation Department, Sopan Arote,
As per this notice, notices have been issued to 25 directors including Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate.
