Maha: Court dismisses minister Munde's appeal against interim maintenance order

Mumbai, Apr 5 (UNI) A sessions court here on Saturday dismissed an appeal filed by a former Maharashtra minister and NCP (AP) leader Dhananjay Munde against an interim order by a magistrate court directing him to pay monthly maintenance of Rs two lakh to his estranged partner and daughter.
Munde has filed an appeal before the sessions court denying marrying a woman, who identified herself as Karuna Munde, and claimed to be his first wife and challenging the local court order directing him to pay maintenance to her.
The NCP leader in his appeal contended that the local court "didn't apply his mind and passed an arbitrary order giving interim maintenance."
He is aggrieved by the order primarily on the ground that the local court erroneously passed it on the basis that the appellant (Dhananjay Munde) and the respondent number 1 (woman) are married to each other and thus there is domestic relationship between them.
The court had said while the minister denied a marital relationship with the woman, there is prima facie
documentary evidence, including his election affidavit, which mentions their two children as his dependents.
The sessions court too considered these documents while dismissing the plea.
