Maha: Minister Aabitkar presents Nightingale Awards to nurses at state function in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, May 12 (UNI) Maharashtra and district guardian minister, Prakash Aabitkar, announced on Monday that the government has decided to honour officers and employees of other departments in the public health sector with awards in near future just as nurses are honoured with the Florence Nightingale Award.
Speaking at the state-level Nightingale Award distribution ceremony held here on occasion of International Nurses' Day which is celebrated on the birthday of nurse Florence Nightingale, he said the corona pandemic highlighted the importance of the health system, and all the components of the health sector should continue to contribute with such dedicated work.
The state-level awardees were honoured with prize money, certificates and mementos for the first time this year.
State-level Nightingale Award-winning nurses:
Adhisevika Group: Rama Govindrao Giri, District Hospital, Beed, Dr. Shubhangi Namdevrao Thorat, District Hospital, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Assistant Servant Group: Asha Wamanrao Bavane, District General Hospital, Gadchiroli
• Assistant Administrative Officer Group: Vandana Vinod Barde, Sub-District Hospital, Warora, District Chandrapur
• Assistant Administrative Officer Group: Usha Chandrakant Bangar, Sub-District Hospital, Ambernath, District Thane
• Public Health Nurse Group: Mamta Kishore Manthekar, District Women's Hospital, Akola.
