Kolhapur, Mar 22 (UNI) The Immigration Bureau of Mumbai Police on Saturday issued a 'lookout circular' against so-called journalist Prashant Koratkar, who is suspected to have fled aboard.
Koratkar, who had allegedly threatened renowned historian Indrajeet Sawant over his remarks on Brahmin community while participating in a televised debate on Hindi blockbuster movie 'Chhaava' based on life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
He had also made insulting remarks against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
After rejection of his anticipatory bail plea by the district and sessions court here on March 18, a team of Juna Rajwada police had left for Nagpur on March 19 to arrest him but before the police team could apprehend him, he fled.
As per a news report published in a section of media, Koratkar is believed to be in Dubai and against this backdrop, a lookout circular was issued against him.
Meanwhile, historian Sawant has demanded to seize Koratkar's passport.
Upon hearing the news of Koratkar's escape, Sawant alleged that it was failure of the government that could not arrest him, who has been absconding from February 25.
