Maha: Narayan Rane questions police role in Disha Salian death case

Mumbai, Mar 22 (UNI) BJP MP Narayan Rane on Saturday questioned the police role in Disha Salian murder case, claiming that during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, led by then chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, there was an attempt to suppress the Disha Salian death case by keeping check on police.
Making this claim in a press conference here, he further claimed that former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray had called Disha Salian's father twice requesting him not to mention his son Aaditya's name in the Disha Salian death case.
He said that now that there is no pressure on Disha's father, he has approached the court for justice.
The role of the police in this entire case is suspicious and why the police did not take action even though there was evidence available, he questioned.
Rane also claimed that the then Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar had put pressure on Disha's father, because of this pressure he was forced to react like that.
He alleged that the person who was responsible for suppressing this entire case was suspended police officer Sachin Waze.
He demanded that the government should now file a fresh FIR (first information report) in this case and arrest the accused.
Saying that Disha's father has demanded action against the police officers who neglected their duty, Rane said that the city police commissioner should seek explanation from the concerned police officers for delay at that time and suspend the guilty officers.
Disha Salian must get justice, and the accused should be severely punished, he demanded.
