Pune, May 13 (UNI) The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education on Tuesday announced the results of the class X examination, indicating a decline in overall pass percentage this year.
The result of all the nine zonal boards of the state -- Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur and Konkan -- has been 94.10 percent, down by 1.71 percent as compared to last year.
The passing percentage of girls was 3.83 percent more than that of boys.
Amongst all divisions, the Konkan division was at top with the highest result of 98.82 percent, while the Nagpur division was at the bottom with 90.78 percent, the lowest result.
Chairman of the MHSBSHSE, Sharad Gosavi, said in a press conference that a total of 15,58,020 regular students from nine divisional boards in the state had registered for the examination and of them, 15,46,579 students appeared for the examination.
Out of these, 14,55,433 students have passed, that is 94.10 percent, this year, he added.
