Maha: Southern Command celebrates 131st Raising Day

Pune, Apr 1 (UNI) The 131st Raising Day of HQ Southern Command was commemorated with solemnity and pride at Pune Military Station on Tuesday.
To mark the occasion, Lieutenant General S P Singh, Chief of Staff, HQ Southern Command, laid a wreath on behalf of all ranks at the Southern Command War Memorial.
The ceremony was attended by serving personnel and Civil Defence Staff.
To mark the Raising Day, the Southern Command has initiated a special event ‘Echoes of Valour’, from March 29 onwards, featuring a Band Display accompanied by a Sound and Laser Show at the Command War Memorial every Saturday, offering the public an opportunity to witness the rich legacy and traditions of Southern Command.
Additionally, on April one, the War Memorial was kept open to the public from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, allowing visitors to pay homage to the bravehearts, said a Defence release here.
