Mamata trains guns on BJP for violence, blames BSF for firing

Kolkata, May 5 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday trained her guns on the BJP-led Centre accusing the saffron brigade and the Border Security Force (BSF) of creating communal tension in Murshidabad.
She said the Murshidabad violence was "well planned" and alleged that if the BSF had not opened fire, the riot would not have happened. She said only two wards were affected by the violence.
Banerjee charged the BSF with resorting to firing, claiming that had the security forces refrained from firing a shot, the riots in Murshidabad would not have happened.
She said two-three leaders from outside had provoked violence. "Why did the BSF fire shots? If BSF had not fired shots, the incident would not have flared up the following day," she asserted.
"Instead of creating communal tension, the BJP should take care of the borders. Save India and save the Indian people," Banerjee said, adding that "when you are in the chair, you cannot divide people. "
She said she came to see the victims' family members. "But why have they been secretly taken away or rather kidnapped. There is some conspiracy (dal mey kuchh kala) in this," Banerjee said in Berhampur.
She said that she being a Hindu, why she should indulge in violence against them. "For me Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians all are equal. I do not want people of any religion to get attacked or killed," she said.
She also questioned the presence of the National Commission for Women within two days of the violence and asked why they did not go to Manipur, UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha.
Banerjee's visit to Murshidabad comes three weeks after the April 11-12 violence in the wake of Waqf Amendment Act.
“Some outsiders and a few religious leaders are trying to incite violence and animosity among communities. Those who are inciting riots are enemies of West Bengal," said the CM.
