Man held in drug case handed over to Nagaland Police

Imphal, Apr 6 (UNI) A Special Operation Team of Manipur Police apprehended one accused person, namely, J Maikho of Saranamai Village, Senapati District, who was involved in a drug transportation case registered at Chumukedima PS, Nagaland.
He was later handed over to Narcotic PS, PHQ Kohima, Manipur Police said on Sunday.
Police said security forces intercepted one four-wheeler coming from Moreh towards Imphal at Tengnoupal Naka Check Post under Tengnoupal-PS, Tengnoupal District, in which five boxes containing 120 bottles of suspected IMFL were detected.
The vehicle was driven by one individual, namely, Md Zamir Khan of Moreh Ward No. IV, Tengnoupal District.
In another incident, based on complaints from locals about the influx of youth from different localities at night time to certain shops selling liquor, the Manipur Police conducted liquor drives at Churachandpur District and seized and disposed of 517 litres of local wine, eight litres of IMFL rum, 212 cans of beer and 49 litres of IMFL whisky.
