Mangaluru woman doctor booked for allegedly posting anti-national comments

Mangaluru, Apr 29 (UNI) A case has been registered against a woman doctor for allegedly posting anti-Hindu and anti-national comments on social media, City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal said here on Tuesday.
Addressing reporters, Agarwal said the woman, identified as Dr Ateefa, is employed at Highland Hospital in the city. "Two days ago, a social media post by her went viral in Mangaluru. The content of the post contained remarks that were either anti-Hindu or anti-national in nature," he stated.
"Following a complaint, we contacted the hospital administration and registered a case against the woman under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)," the Commissioner said.
He further said the doctor has been called in for investigation and that the mobile phone used for posting the comments has been seized. "A forensic examination of the device is underway. Further investigation is in progress," he added.
