Mine blast due to Pak Army's intrusion: Indian Army

Jammu, Apr 2 (UNI) Indian Army on Wednesday said mine blast occurred due to Pakistan Army's intrusion across the Line of Control in Poonch district.

In a statement issued here, Army said, "On Apr 1, a mine blast occurred in Krishna Ghati Sector due to Pakistan Army intrusion across LC."

"This was followed by unprovoked firing and ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army," said Army, adding, "Own troops responded effectively in a controlled and calibrated manner."

Situation is under control and being closely monitored, said Army.

It further said, "Indian Army reiterates the importance of upholding the tenets of DGsMO understanding of 2021 to maintain peace along the Line of Control."

Notably, on Feb 21, in view of increased incidents of exchange of firing, India and Pakistan held a Brigadier-Level Flag Meeting at Chakkan-da-Bagh along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

India and Pakistan agreed to maintain sanctity of renewed ceasefire agreement for peace along the borders at Brigadier-Level Flag Meeting.

Both sides agreed to honour the ceasefire pact renewed on February 25, 2021 for calm and peaceful borders.
