Mutual transfer of outsourced conductors approved in UP

Lucknow, Apr 15 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday announced a significant relief for outsourced conductors working in UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), sources said here.
Sources said that mutual transfers will now be permitted for conductors appointed through outsourcing, which will enhance employee convenience and operational efficiency. "This step is expected to not only ease the challenges faced by the conductors but also boost the corporation's performance and revenue," they said.
Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Daya Shankar Singh said that conductors were bound to serve at their designated postings under the existing system. "However, with the new policy, those who have completed a minimum of six months of service and covered at least 30,000 kilometres will now be eligible for transfer through mutual consent," he said.
He said that the initiative will especially benefit those posted in remote areas, enabling them to work closer to their home districts or preferred locations. "The move is expected to reduce absenteeism and unnecessary leave, ensuring smoother bus operations," he said.
The Minister said that consistent conductor availability will increase the number of active buses and working days, ultimately enhancing the Transport Corporation's revenue. "Passengers will benefit from more timely and regular bus services, improving travel experience and connectivity," he said.
He said that the decision by the Yogi government reflects its commitment to transparency, employee welfare and public convenience. "It marks another meaningful step towards comprehensive development across all sectors in the state," he said.
