Jodhpur, May 11 (UNI) Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said on Sunday that despite the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, incidents of violation are occurring, and it is essential to remain highly alert and vigilant.



Shekhawat made these remarks while interacting with the media on the sidelines of a high-level meeting with senior officials of major medical institutions in Jodhpur district, held at the Atal Seva Kendra in the Collectorate complex. The meeting focused on emergency medical services in light of the current national security situation.



Shekhawat emphasized that even as efforts for peace are underway, if tensions escalate, it is crucial to maintain military and civilian preparedness at the same level as during wartime. He mentioned that he has conducted review meetings with administrative officials in border districts like Jodhpur, Phalodi, Jaisalmer and Barmer to formulate an integrated strategy.



During the meeting, Shekhawat stressed the importance of utilizing available resources judiciously and highlighted that unity and coordination are the greatest assets in times of crisis. The meeting was attended by representatives from Military Hospital, Dr S N Medical College, AIIMS, Railway Hospital and other major institutions.



The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure synchronized response and availability of advanced medical resources in emergency situations.

Shekhawat directed that a nodal officer be appointed in each major hospital to facilitate coordination during crises and instructed the district administration to appoint a senior officer for each hospital to ensure seamless administrative and medical coordination.



He reviewed the availability of medical equipment, blood units, beds, ICU resources and ambulance services and directed all institutions to be prepared to function in full alert mode at all times.

District Collector Gaurav Agrawal informed the Union Minister that all medical institutions in the district have ensured sufficient stock of ambulances, medical staff, essential equipment, blood units, and medicines to handle emergencies like natural disasters or attacks.



The meeting was attended by Dr B S Jodha, Principal and Controller of Dr S N Medical College, Dr G D Puri, Director of AIIMS Jodhpur, Colonel Abeer Gogoi and Lieutenant Colonel Deshmukh from Military Hospital, Dr S R Bankar from Railway Hospital, Additional District Collector Jawahar Choudhary, Additional District Collector Surendra Rajpurohit, and other officials.
