Raipur, May 12 (UNI) Two workers were burnt alive in a container fire on Sunday night while cooking food in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.
Sources said a fire was reported when three workers were cooking food around 7 pm. The workers were part of the Bharat Mala project in Abhanpur, sources added.
One worker managed to escape, they said. The fire initially started at the main door of the container. Soon the container was filled with smoke. The lone survivor managed to escape with the help of other workers, sources added.
Many workers are engaged for the project and a few of tem live in containers in Urla village, near Abhanpur.
Nava Raipur Additional Superintendent of Police (Additional SP) Vivek Shukla said the deceased workers were residents of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased have been identified as Parman Ali (25) and Shadab Ali (22).
