Adani Gangavaram Port enhances railway infrastructure with two new locomotives

Visakhapatnam, Apr 1 (UNI) Adani Gangavaram Port, one of India’s deepest and most modern ports, has strengthened its railway infrastructure with the induction of two new WDG3A locomotives.
This move aims to enhance capacity, efficiency, and cargo movement across the region, a company statement said on Tuesday.
The new locomotives are part of the port’s broader strategy to upgrade its railway network, improve cargo handling, and expand storage and warehousing facilities. These initiatives are designed to meet the increasing logistics demands of the region.
Additionally, the port has commissioned two new cranes in the previous quarter to boost vessel productivity. Ongoing investments in infrastructure have helped the port set new records in marine, railway, road, and conveyor operations.
A spokesperson from Adani Gangavaram Port Limited stated, “The induction of these new locomotives underscores our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. With state-of-the-art deep-water infrastructure and an efficient evacuation system, we continue to offer substantial economic benefits to Indian importers.”
