New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Amidst uncertainty following the temporary suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL), BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla on Sunday said that the Board is actively assessing the situation and is likely to announce the revised schedule shortly.
Speaking to reporters, Shukla said, :No decision has been taken yet. BCCI officials are currently evaluating the situation. The tournament has been suspended for one week."
He confirmed that as an understanding was reached between India and Pakistan on Saturday in the backdrop of Operation Sindoor, the BCCI will take an appropriate decision in due course.
"BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia is in constant touch with all stakeholders, and the IPL Governing Council Chairman (Arun Singh Dhumal) is also coordinating with everyone, including the franchisees," Shukla said.
"All aspects, such as the number of venues and logistical arrangements, are being worked out. But rest assured, the IPL will resume soon," he assured, adding that every effort is being made to restart the tournament at the earliest.
The IPL was halted earlier this week amid heightened tensions and logistical challenges related to the ongoing operation. UNI BDN SSP
