Bengal: Dismissed teachers demand resignation of Education minister and SSC chief

Kolkata, Apr 21 (UNI) Tension ran high in front of West Bengal School Service Commission headquarters at Salt Lake where thousands of dismissed teachers of the state- owned schools on Monday staged protest demonstration demanding issuance of the OMR and publication of the list of tainted candidates for whom the Supreme court cancelled entire 2016 recruitment.
The protesters have been waiting in front of SSC office since 12 PM after they were assured by state education minister Bratya Basu and SSC chairman Siddhartha Majumdar in the first week of April that the Commission would publish the list of OMR and identify the tainted candidates.by the evening on April 21.
A team of 13 dismissed teachers called on the SSC chairman for a meeting in his chamber and after the deadline was over the protesters outside started shouting slogans and demanded resignation of Basu as well as the SSC chief.
