Bhubaneswar, May 6 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu for the Union Government's in-principle approval to establish a new airport in Puri.
In a post on his social media platform 'X', the Chief Minister stated that the proposed airport would significantly boost religious and spiritual tourism, regional development, and overall connectivity in Odisha.
He emphasised that the state government is committed to driving industrial growth alongside the development of comprehensive infrastructure, with the goal of building a prosperous Odisha. Strengthening the state's aviation infrastructure is a key part of this vision.
In addition to the proposed Puri airport, plans are also underway to develop a new airport in Paradip.
Majhi expressed hope that with the Centre’s approval for the Puri airport, Odisha will witness a surge in national and international tourist arrivals, leading to substantial growth in the state's tourism sector.
