Nitish Rabri confrontation in Upper House on law and order issue

Patna, Mar 20 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD MLC Rabri Devi, had a heated exchange on the issue of crime and law and order in the upper house.
Raising the issue of crime and law and order the RJD MLCs accused the Bihar government of failing to control the crime and trooped to the well during the pre-lunch sitting in the state legislative council shouting slogans against the government. The former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD MLC Rabri Devi was also shouting slogans against the government which led to the heated exchange between the opposition and the treasury bench.
Amid the confrontation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar assured the house of a strict investigation into any criminal incident. The opposition however, continued the ruckus following which Kumar reminded Rabri Devi of her regime and the Lalu era.
Requesting the opposition members to resume their seats the Chief Minister said that timely action was taken in every case.
Irked at the opposition's demonstration, Kumar pointing towards Rabri Devi said that she was made CM when her husband (Lalu Prasad Yadav) was suspended. Annoyed at it, the opposition staged a noisy walkout from the upper house.
Earlier while protesting against the law and order situation, the RJD members pointing towards the Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh raised slogans of 'sycophancy will not work' . To this the Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary objected and demanded that the chairman examine it through the video clippings of the proceedings. He said accusing the chairman was a serious offence.
The RJD MLC Abdul Bari Siddiqui said that such words cannot be used against the chairman or for any other member and an apology is tendered in case anyone was hurt.
