Meghalaya: Polling for KHADC, JHADC ended peacefully, re-poll in four polling stations

Shillong, Feb 21 (UNI) Polling for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) in Meghalaya on Friday, barring four incidents of poll-related incidents in East Jaintia Hills district.
The District Council Affairs, which conducted the elections, ordered a re-poll in four polling stations under 22- Musniang Rangad District Council constituency and 29- Bataw Lakadong District Council Constituency from 7 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
“There were four incidents of vandalism in which miscreants in huge numbers entered the polling stations in East Jaintia Hills district and destroyed the EVMs. No violence or any untoward incidents were reported in the KHADC polls, Commissioner and Secretary District Council Affairs, Cyril Vincent Darlong Diengdoh said.
