Arunachal: Gastric Cancer Epidemiology & Risk Study launched at Ziro Valley

Itanagar, Mar 4 (UNI) In a significant step towards understanding and preventing gastric cancer, Arunachal Pradesh Health & Family Welfare Minister Biyuram Wahge launched the Gastric Cancer Epidemiology and Risk Study at Gyati Takka General Hospital (GTGH), Ziro, on Tuesday.
The four-day gastric cancer screening program, set to run from March 5 to 8, is being organized by Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI), Guwahati, in collaboration with the State Cancer Society of Arunachal Pradesh, and GTGH, and supported by Lower Subansiri district administration and the Community Advisory Board (CAB).
While addressing the gathering, Minister Wahge termed cancer as a major societal challenge, affecting not just patients but entire families. Expressing his appreciation for the initiative, he assured full support to ensure its success.
