Patna, Feb 24 (UNI) Founder of "Jan Suraaj " Prashant Kishor, on Monday said that only three percent of dalit (oppressed) students pass 12th standard examination in Bihar even after 78 years of Independence.
Kishor, popularly known as PK, said here that the caste census conducted by the Bihar government had brought some startling facts to light. Only three percent of Dalit students pass 12th standard examination even after 78 years of Independence, he added.
" Architect of the constitution, Bheem Rao Ambedkar, had called upon dalits and other underprivileged to get educated and united for struggling to protect their rights," PK recalled and added that his party would work to empower the dalit community. They would be made self-dependent and educated, and also steps would be taken to ensure their rights on resources if his party was voted to power, he added.
"Ten youths from every village would be selected and trained to earn Rs 5 to 10 thousand per month, using their mobile phones," Kishor said, adding that people should vote after thinking cautiously over candidates and issues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had become custodian of the state exchequer of Rs 45 lakh crores only on the basis of votes given by people to him, he pointed out. Don't waste the votes and exercise franchise for a better future for their children, he appealed to people.
