New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Amid ruckus, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday suspended 12 AAP MLAs, including, Leader of opposition Atishi from Minister Gopal Rai, and Vishesh Ravi for the whole day for disruption and sloganeering in the House.
Within minutes of commencement of the assembly session, on the second days the AAP leader suspended following their protest against the removal of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s picture from the Delhi CM’s office.
AAP MLAs also held a protest march outside the assembly after being suspended for a day and alleged that "Is PM Modi is bigger than Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar".
Talking to reporters, Delhi CM and Leader of Opposition Atishi said, "BJP has replaced the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar with that of PM Modi in the CM office...Is PM Modi bigger than Dr BR Ambedkar?... We will keep on protesting against it until the portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar is put in its place". "We also want the CAG report to be tabled so that the truth comes out...The way they insulted Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Shaeed Bhagat Singh yesterday shows the BJP's intention" AAP MLA AAP MLA Gopal Rai said.
Meanwhile, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta will table pending Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) reports on the previous AAP government’s performance.
Rekha Gupta had announced last Thursday that the reports would be made public in the first session under the new government.
