Delhi Cabinet approves Mahila Samridhi Yojana to provide Rs 2,500 monthly aid to women

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) On the occasion of International Women's day, the Delhi Cabinet on Saturday approved the 'Mahila Samridhi Yojana' to provide Rs 2,500 monthly aid to women.
Talking to reporters here, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Mahila Samridhi Yojana was approved in the Cabinet meeting held today.
She said that for making good use of the occasion of International Women's Day, the Cabinet met, and the promise made to the sisters of Delhi before the Assembly election was approved. For this, a provision of Rs 5100 crore has been made so that poor sisters can get benefits.
The Chief Minister said that a committee has been formed headed by her and three Cabinet Ministers Ashish Sood, Parvesh Sahib Singh and Kapil Mishra will be the members. To implement the scheme, the registration work will start soon by creating a portal.
The registration work will be started after a thorough discussion on its terms and conditions, Rekha Gupta said.
