New Delhi, May 9 (UNI) Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security situation along the western border and operational preparedness of the Indian Armed Forces, the Defence Ministry said.
The meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.
The crucial meeting comes hours after India effectively foiled multiple drone attacks launched by Pakistan along the entire Western Border.
Moreover, Pakistani troops had also resorted to numerous cease fire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the BSF also thwarted an infiltration bid from across the border in Samba sector of Jammu.
The BSF foiled the infiltration bid, neutralising at least seven terrorists and causing extensive damage to the Pakistan Post Dhandhar.
