SAU opens applications for 2025-26 academic session

SAU opens applications for 2025-26 academic session

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) The South Asian University (SAU) has announced the commencement of application process for the 2025-26 academic session.
The announcement was made by Prof. K K Aggarwal, President of SAU, who reaffirmed the university’s commitment to delivering world-class education and expanding academic opportunities across the South Asian region.
"South Asian University continues to set new benchmarks in higher education. With our latest academic offerings, we aim to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and research capabilities required to excel in an evolving world. The introduction of our virtual campus reflects our commitment to inclusivity and innovation. We have also made dedicated efforts to ensure that students from across SAARC nations, as well as from India, have multiple pathways to access these opportunities," said Prof. Aggarwal.
The university is undergoing a significant phase of expansion, supported by its transition to a state-of-the-art, 100-acre permanent campus at Maidan Garhi. Until 2022, SAU operated from a temporary premise at Akbar Bhawan, which limited its growth. However, with the move to its new campus, the university has embarked on an ambitious journey of academic and infrastructural development.
Until 2023, SAU offered only master’s and PhD programs, but in the 2024-25 academic year, it took a major step forward by introducing B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering. Building on this momentum, SAU has now launched several new programs for the 2025-26 academic session, further broadening its academic landscape and reinforcing its position as a premier institution in higher education. This year, the university has opened around 1,300 seats for on-campus programs across various disciplines.
A key highlight of this expansion is the introduction of specialised B.Tech. programs designed to meet industry demands. The B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) now offers in-demand specialisations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Business Systems & Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Data Science & AI. Additionally, SAU has launched a B.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing, a program designed to equip students with advanced computational and analytical skills necessary for emerging technological fields.
For students seeking interdisciplinary education, the university has introduced Integrated Programs, which provide a seamless transition from undergraduate to postgraduate studies. These include the Integrated BS-MS in Interdisciplinary Sciences and the Integrated BBA-MBA program, both of which are designed to offer students a broad and holistic academic experience. The BS-MS Program is a program where the students will have the opportunity to study all four science streams, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Life Sciences to begin with, which is not so common, and gradually will specialise in any one stream of his/her choice.
"With the launch of admissions for 2025-26, SAU reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and accessibility. Our diverse range of programs, from cutting-edge B.Tech. specialisations to interdisciplinary and executive education, ensures that students gain the skills and knowledge necessary for success in today’s competitive landscape. We welcome aspiring students to be part of this transformative educational journey at SAU," said Prof. Pankaj Jain, Vice President of SAU.
In alignment with global higher education trends, SAU has also introduced one-year master’s programs for students who have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. These programs offer an accelerated yet rigorous path to postgraduate education, allowing students to enter the workforce with advanced qualifications in a shorter timeframe.
Additionally, SAU has expanded its postgraduate offerings with the introduction of an MBA, an Executive MBA for working professionals, and an MCA. The university continues to offer M.Tech., MSc (Computer Science), MSc Biotechnology, MA Sociology, MA International Relations, MA Economics, and LLM, ensuring a diverse range of academic opportunities for students across multiple disciplines.
With a strong focus on research and academic excellence, SAU is also strengthening its PhD programs. This year, it has introduced an Executive PhD program, designed specifically for working professionals who wish to pursue advanced research while continuing their careers.
Admissions to various programs will be conducted through SAU’s own entrance test, as well as through recognised national-level eligibility tests across SAARC nations.
Applications for the 2025-26 academic session are now open. For detailed admission procedures, eligibility, and deadlines, please visit www.sau.int.
The last date to apply for the admissions is April 4, 2025, and the entrance tests will be conducted on April 26 to 27, 2025.
