India sends humanitarian assistance to Botswana, six dialysis units to Kiribati

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) India has sent humanitarian assistance to Botswana in the wake of the floods there, and also sent a six-bedded Dialysis Unit to Kiribati in the Pacific Islands.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said on X that the first tranche of medicines, surgical supplies, mosquito nets and water purifiers was sent to Botswana.
“India sends humanitarian assistance to Botswana.
“In the wake of floods in Botswana, the first tranche of approx 10 tons of assistance comprising essential medicines, surgical supplies, mosquito nets, water purifiers, etc was dispatched for Botswana.”
A total of 2,249 households, including 6,423 individuals, 2,631 children, and 561 elderly people, were affected in the recent floods in Botswana, a landlocked country in southern Africa.
On the assistance sent to Kiribati, an island country in the central Pacific Ocean, the spokesperson posted:
“Standing together with the Pacific Islands family - helping strengthen the healthcare system of Kiribati.
“Fulfilling India’s commitment made at FIPIC III Summit: a consignment of six-bedded container-based Dialysis Unit departed from Mundra Port for Tarawa, Kiribati.”
