New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) India today expressed deep sadness over the tragic death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar and assured that the government will take all necessary steps to ensure the safety, security and well-being of all Nepalese students in India.
KIIT has been embroiled in a controversy over the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year B.Tech student from Butwal, who reportedly took her own life last Sunday due to persistent harassment from an Indian student.
Fellow Nepali students claimed that despite previous complaints, the university administration failed to take action against the perpetrator.
