Chhattisgarh: Tehsildar suspended over alleged land scam leading to tribal man's suicide

Balrampur, May 6 (UNI) In a significant action, the Chattisgarh government has suspended the then Tehsildar and Registrar Officer Yashwant Kumar in connection with a land scam that allegedly led to the suicide of a tribal man in Balrampur district.

The suspension follows a complaint filed by members of the Pahadi Korva family in December 2024, alleging that the land registered in the name of Bhaira Korwa in Bhenski village under Rajpur block was fraudulently transferred to a non-tribal person through collusion with the patwari.
