Man posing as vigilance officer arrested by Moradabad police

Moradabad (UP), Mar 19 (UNI) An imposter was arrested by the police which recovered a fake identity card (ID) of Vigilance department along with an SUV with flasher light in Moradabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, a police officer said here.
Superintendent of Police (City) Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that on March 10, Suhail Ahmed, a resident of Friends MDA Colony under Katghar police station, filed a complaint in Civil Lines police station, in which he had alleged that he was kidnapped and taken to Bijnor and pressured to withdraw the case and compromise with opposite party," he said.
He said that on the basis of the complaint, a case was registered and on March 19. "On Wednesday the police arrested Kuldeep Sharma, a native of Gulavti, Bulandshahr, currently a resident of Pallavpuram in Meerut, near the Police Academy," he said.
The SP said that when quizzed the accused admitted that he has managed a fake ID card of a vigilance officer and by imposing himself as a big officer, he used to settle personal disputes. "The accused revealed that in lieu of settling disputes, he took money from people," he said.
He said that the accused came to know that to settle the land dispute between Suhail Ahmed and Afaq Ahmed on March 7.
