Medical intern expelled from DRPGMC Tanda for attacking junior with knife

Kangra, Mar 20 (UNI) An intern medical student of Dr. R.P.Govt Medical College Kangra at Tanda was expelled from the college for 18 months and fined Rs. 1.8 lakh for allegedly attacking a junior MBBS student with a knife on the eve of Holi in the college ground, medical college sources said here on Wednesday.
Dr. Milap Sharma,Principal DRPGM College Tanda, told UNI that a student identified as Nitin Chauhan, an Intern of the 2019 MBBS batch, allegedly attacked an MBBS 2022 batch student on the eve of Holi in the college ground where the festival was being celebrated.
He said that the jacket of the student was damaged and there was no deep wound, though he had severe bleeding.
He said the police were informed and the case was sent to the disciplinary Committee of the college.
The Principal said that the disciplinary Committee headed by Dr. Manish Saroch HOD ENT submitted its report on Monday and recommended the expulsion of Nitin Chauhan from the college for 18 months and imposed a fine of Rs. 1.8 lakhs which is to be deposited within seven days.
Meanwhile, Kàngra Sub Divisional Police Officer Ankit Sharma when contacted told UNI that the victim had refused to go for a Medical examination and was not interested in the police intervention in the matter. He had given in writing that whatever the College disciplinary committee decides was acceptable to him. UNI AR SP
