HC issues notice to Punjab govt on Badal petition

Chandigarh, Apr 4 (UNI) Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday issued a notice to the Punjab government, returnable on April 30, on the petition of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal praying the probe into the case of attack on him be transferred to CBI or the NIA.
Badal filed this petition days after his alleged attacker Narain Singh Chura was released on bail.
The SAD leader has claimed in the petition that his statements were not recorded by the police.
Badal was shot at while he was doing Seva, as a part of punishment meted out to him by Akal Takht after he was declared 'Tankhaiya', at the Golden Temple premises on December 04. UNI GS MR SSP
