MP: Girls top high school and higher secondary exams, CM congratulates

Bhopal, May 6 (UNI) Girls have excelled in both High School and Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, the results of which were announced on Tuesday
This year, 76.22% of students passed the High School examination, while 74.48% of candidates cleared the Higher Secondary examination, breaking the record of the past 15 years.
Announcing the results, state chief minister Mohan Yadav congratulated the successful students.
In the High School examination, Pragya Jaiswal scored 500/500 marks, securing the top rank in the state. In the Higher Secondary examination, Priyal Dwivedi scored 492/500 marks in the Science-Mathematics group, securing the top rank in the state.
The Chief Minister said the state's talented daughters have once again proven their excellence and brought pride to their parents, teachers, and Madhya Pradesh.
Yadav said this success is a testament to their dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
The Chief Minister expressed his keenness to meet Jaiswal, to know the secret of her success. He also congratulated Dwivedi, who topped the 12th examination with 492 marks.
The Chief Minister urged students who failed not to get disheartened, as the new education policy 2020 provides an opportunity for them to reappear for the examination. Students who want to improve their scores can also take the examination again, he said. UNI XC AKT SSP

Kashmiri journalist detained for 'instigating secessionist sentiment' on social media

Srinagar, May 6 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing on Tuesday detained a Kashmiri journalist, accusing him of “posting extremist content on social media.”

Police said Hilal Mir, a resident of Bemina Srinagar was detained as he "used to disseminate extremist or distorted content with an intention to disturb peace and promote disaffection and secessionist ideology and present India in a bad shape.”

Police statement didn’t mention Mir as a journalist.
Mir, an independent reporter, has previously worked with media organsations including Hindustan Times and Srinagar based newspapers. He also freelanced for Anadolu Agency, TRT and Huffpost.
