Some vested interests working to disturb ongoing peace, progress in J&K: BJP chief on Pahalgam Terror Attack

Jammu, Apr 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party President Sat Sharma on Friday said some vested interests are working to disturb ongoing peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Certain vested interests are working to disturb the ongoing peace, progress and communal harmony in the Jammu and Kashmir," Sharma said speaking at a ceremonial Hawan followed by a tribute ceremony (Shradhanjali Sabha) here at party headquarters to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pahalgam Terrorist Attack.
He emphasized that no religion preaches hatred among the fellow humans and the heinous acts of terrorism has to be condemned by all.
Sharma quoted the local Kashmiri business owners, who were left high and dry after this terrorist attack.
Earlier, they were appreciating the tremendous increase in their income and overall improvement in the socio-economic status of common Kashmiri after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.
He also mentioned that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah is concerned over the safety of the citizens and are determined to retaliate strongly. Focusing on the commitment of Modi government, he said that all the culprits of Pahalgam Terrorist attack would be taught a lesson of lifetime.
Several senior BJP leaders attended the occasion.
BJP leaders performed the Hawan with customary rituals to pray for the Moksha to heavenly bound souls, then paid floral tributes and later concluded with a two-minutes silence praying for the departed souls.
The BJP leadership conveyed profound condolences to the families of the martyrs and called upon all sections of society to collectively strive for enduring peace and justice.
Sat Sharma, while paying tributes to martyrs of the Pahalgam targeted Terrorist attack, said that the whole nation is anguished over this unwarranted martyrdom of these unsuspecting victims.
Meanwhile Ashok Koul, General Secretary (organization) while paying tributes, said that the tragic incident shook the whole world.
He said that the Union Home Minister personally supervised the evacuation, medical treatment and the security measures after he immediately flew to Kashmir.
He expressed concern on the targeted killing of innocent citizens by terrorists in a communal manner.
He also blamed MP Aga Syed Ruhullah, for instigating the local sentiments by articulating that the tourism is invading culture of Kashmir. Lauding the anti-terrorism protests in Kashmir, he said that these protests (if held few decades back) could have prevented the present turmoil in Kashmir.
Dr. Nirmal Singh expressed confidence in the Modi government and stressed on the common stand by all the political parties against the terrorism.
Kavinder Gupta articulated that this tragedy would never be forgotten and this incident will give a new direction to the fight against the terrorism.
All other speakers underscored the imperative of fostering national unity, strengthening security, and adopting a resolute approach toward combating terrorism, to ensure that such heinous acts are never repeated.
