Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 22 (UNI) A Maoist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Tuesday, police said.
According to information received here, a team of anti-Naxal force out in the forest of Bijapur on a search mission was ambushed by the left-wing rebels. In retaliatory firing, the soldiers killed a Naxalite, sources said, adding many rebels were also injured.
The security personnel have traced blood stains and drag marks at the encounter site, police sources said, adding the search mission was going on.
